STUDIO 21,CHRISTMAS 2009

Many Thanks to all those who visited Studio 21 at Christmas time, despite the weather.It was freezing, force gale winds and rain.Despite the horrible weather, we managed to raise £220 for Serv.They were extremely pleased and thanked us for our ''considerable donation''. Check out their website,it's an interesting and important charity.www.SERV.org.uk. They are the blood runners for the four counties of Oxon, Berks ,Bucks and Northants.They do this on a volunteer basis, usually after hours. They have kindly given us a mention on facebook. STUDIO 21. 13th- 15th NOVEMBER 2009, Christmas show

A short walk from Caversham centre. Caversham's STUDIO 21 presents a selection of art and craft for the fourth year running. The high quality work on show includes original contemporary work by talented designer/makers. Each exhibitor is represented by a selection of stunning work. An opportunity to buy wonderful and unique Christmas presents directly from the artists. 10% of all sales go to charity. Come and do some hassle free Christmas shopping

Vicky Baker

Victoria worked in the field of Theatre, Film and Dance costume for 14 years. Since then she has been working in Textiles, and through this developed an interest in using acrylic for such things as handles for her handbags and a range of hand-painted and engraved buttons. This then led her to create a range of jewellery, hand-painted and engraved pendants. Recently Victoria has been experimenting with a mixture of silver and acrylic, creating some simple, elegant designs in jewellery.

Sally Bettridge. Ceramics

From her West Berkshire workshop, Sally Bettridge produces a wide range of slip decorated earthenware. She employs traditional techniques in her work, applied to a contemporary design approach resulting in functional domestic ware that is light, lively and thoroughly modern.

Christine Brewster

A contemporary functional basketmaker, I use tried and tested traditional techniques to make robust useable baskets with a distinctive style. All my willow baskets are unique and are made by my own hand using English grown materials.

Jo Dewar

Jo has developed a technique of manipulating and weaving wire creating vibrant pieces of work ranging from teapots, jugs to xmas decorations. She also has a passion for shoes and makes small handmade paper shoes overlaid with monoprint that are individually decorated. email: jo@jodewar.com.

Nina Krauzewicz

The Charity SERV, also known as the 'Blood Runners', is a charitable organisation that delivers blood products to the emergency and accident hospitals across Southern England at night free of charge whenever and wherever it's urgently needed.
SERV is a Registered Charity(#284455), run by dedicated volunteer motorcyclists and drivers who give their time and petrol to do their bit using their bikes and cars to help others who need emergency supplies of blood.
SERV provides a service that has saved many lives. The volunteers fund SERV at their own expense and by donations - so if you are looking for a worthy charity to support please contact us. Remember, it's not just the volunteers who save lives, it could also be you !

More artists exhibiting, many of them local to Caversham. Bit of a tight squeeze but managed to accommodate nine artists.

STUDIO 21 2006

Studio 21 had it's first exhibtion in 2006. Six artists were brought together at the invitation of Vicky Baker at her Caversham Studio. It was a eclectic selection of high quality work, which included glass handbags,scarves,cushions,willow baskets and ceramics.
The artists were not charged a fee for exhibiting but were asked to give 10% of their sales to Charity.The Charity chosen that year was Queen Anne's School Caversham ,Bahowa School project. That year they were raising money for the rebuilding of the Indonesian school (Bahowa School)and medical Centre ,which had been destroyed in the devastating Boxing day tsunami.This is still an ongoing Charity for Queen Anne's
